RISER is software that fire sprinkler contractors use to run their business. It is provided by Mozaik Enterprises, Inc. This page explains what information RISER holds, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and how to ask for it to be changed or removed.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Two kinds of people, two different answers
- People who sign in (the contractor’s owner, office staff and technicians): we provide the service to your employer, and this policy covers how we handle your account.
- The contractor’s customers (building owners, managers and site contacts, and anyone who opens an estimate link): your information belongs to the contractor you deal with. We store and process it only on that contractor’s behalf and on its instructions. See below.
What we hold, and why
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Staff accounts: name, login name, role, trade and truck, and an email only if the person (or the owner) saves one for password links. Passwords, and the password links themselves, are stored only as a one-way scrambled code. | To sign people in, show who is doing which job, and send a forgotten-password link. |
| Where a technician starts and ends the day (the shop, home, a building or an address), when the office plans a day. | To plan routes. RISER does not track anyone’s live location. |
| Customers and buildings: business names, addresses, and contact names, phone numbers and emails for site, billing and management contacts. | To schedule visits, reach the right person and send estimates, reports and invoices. |
| Inspection results, photos, reports, estimates, invoices and payments. | The contractor’s work records, which fire code and tax law expect it to keep. |
| Estimate approvals: the name and email typed, and the date and time. | A record of who approved the work, which has the same effect as a signature. |
| Messages the contractor chooses to forward into RISER from its own group texts or email. | To turn a request into a job. |
| Questions asked of Flo, the built-in assistant, and its answers. | To answer, and to keep the conversation on screen. |
| A record of settings changes (who changed what, and when). | So the owner can see what changed. |
| Feedback you send to RISER support, including a request to close the account: your messages, any screenshots (with the photo’s hidden location and time details removed), and the screen you were on when you wrote (its address only, without record numbers). | Read by the RISER team, with help from Claude (see Anthropic below), to fix and improve RISER and to answer you. |
Photos shown on a customer’s estimate link have their location and time details removed first.
Who else handles it
We use a small number of outside services, each only for the job listed:
- Anthropic (Claude): powers Flo, “Rewrite with AI” on estimates, reading receipts, sorting messages forwarded from the contractor’s group texts (the sender’s name or phone number and the message), reading national-account work-order PDFs (such as the PO, check-in line and PIN, and store), helping the RISER team read and sort Feedback (the messages, screenshots, the screen each was sent from, and requests to close the account), and helping the RISER team read Flo’s masked learning notes once a week to improve Flo. It receives the question or text and the records needed to answer. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms this is not used to train its models.
- Render: hosts RISER and its data on servers in the United States (Oregon).
- Resend: sends RISER’s own emails, which are only a password link someone asked for and a short note when the email saved for those links changes. It gets that email address, the person’s first name and login name, and the company name.
- Maps: map pictures load straight from OpenStreetMap and Esri, which see your device’s internet address and the map area on screen.
- Address lookups: the RISER server checks addresses and parcels with OpenStreetMap (Nominatim and Overpass), Komoot (Photon), the U.S. Census Bureau and county and city map sites. Only the address or map area is sent, never a person’s name.
RISER sends no other email. Estimates, reports and invoices are sent from the contractor’s own email program.
How long it is kept
- Inspection, repair and billing records: for the life of the account, because fire code and tax law expect them kept. A privacy request removes a person’s contact details from the contact fields but keeps these records (see Your choices and rights).
- Flo conversations: kept for the life of the account, so the record of what was asked and approved stays. A privacy request does not remove them; to ask for that, email info@riseroffice.com.
- Flo’s learning notes (with phone numbers, emails and street numbers masked): 90 days.
- Password links and email-change notes: the record of when one was sent is kept 7 days. A link works once, for 30 minutes.
- Nightly backups: 14 days.
- A sign-in lasts at most 90 days.
- When a contractor leaves, its data is kept for 30 days so it can download everything, then deleted from the server and backups within a further 30 days.
If you are a contractor's customer
The contractor who sent you an estimate or report decides what is kept about you and why. To see, correct or remove your information, contact that contractor: their name, phone and email are on every estimate and report. The contractor can log your request in RISER and remove your contact details while keeping the inspection, repair and billing records the law expects it to keep. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request to the contractor.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information held about you, to get a copy, to correct it, or to delete it. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right not to be treated differently for using them. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising. Customers of a contractor ask that contractor (see above); staff ask their company’s owner or email info@riseroffice.com.
- See or correct: the owner changes a person’s details in Settings, and logs a customer’s request at Settings › Data › Privacy requests.
- Get a copy: the owner downloads everything at Settings › Data › Export everything.
- Delete: the owner removes a customer’s contact details at Settings › Data › Privacy requests. That removes them from the contact fields only. It does not search the words inside forwarded texts and emails, Flo conversations, bill-to names on invoices and buildings, or messages sent to RISER support through Feedback. To have those removed too, ask by email: customers to the contractor, staff and owners to info@riseroffice.com. Inspection, repair and billing records stay, as above.
- Close the account: the owner uses “Ask to close the account” at Settings › Data › Privacy requests, or emails info@riseroffice.com. The export stays available for 30 days after the last paid month, as above.
We answer requests within 45 days.
Keeping it safe
Connections are encrypted. Each contractor has its own install and database. Sign-in cookies are encrypted, and signing out or changing a password ends every other sign-in. Only people with a login can see the data: the people the owner gives a login to, and RISER support. RISER support has its own login on every install and uses it only to set the install up and to help when asked, and, once a week, to download Flo’s masked learning notes to improve Flo.
Children
RISER is for business use by adults aged 18 or over. It is not meant for children and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Cookies
RISER uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies. See the cookie policy.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Big changes are told to each contractor’s owner first.
